The DeLorean DMC-12 was the brainchild of John DeLorean, a visionary automotive executive who had already made a name for himself at General Motors with cars like the Pontiac GTO. Suddenly, the car that had failed commercially became one of the most recognisable vehicles in the world. Its role as a cinematic time machine ensured its place in history, making it as much a pop culture treasure as it is an automotive one. Today, well-preserved DeLoreans are highly collectible, with values steadily rising as enthusiasts chase a piece of nostalgia.
