At VINTTRO our in-depth claims knowledge is central to how we proactively protect our clients’ interests. A recent case involving our client Dance & Dean highlights exactly why our expertise and determination provide a unique advantage to fleet operators.
Dance & Dean faced a complex motor claim involving alleged vehicle damage and two personal injury claims that equated to nearly £30,000 plus costs.
When the claim was first presented to our client’s insurer and their appointed solicitor, their recommendation was to settle.
Drawing upon our extensive claims expertise, VINTTRO challenged these recommendations. Working closely with Richard Coonz, Operations Manager at Dance & Dean, we influenced the insurer’s position so the third-party claim could be properly tested at a hearing.
To support the defence, we ensured that dash cam footage and telematics data were submitted. This evidence formed the backbone of a robust defence and proved crucial to the outcome.
The case proceeded to trial. After the dash cam evidence was presented and cross-examination revealed inconsistencies in the third party’s statements, both in relation to the alleged vehicle damage and the injury claims, the third party withdrew their case.
This decisive outcome avoided unnecessary costs for both Dance & Dean and their insurer, RSA.
Alleged exaggeration and opportunistic claims are happening daily across the UK, with fleets like Dance & Dean increasingly targeted.
Without expert claims handling and the confidence to challenge early recommendations, many businesses fall victim to such cases, damaging their claims experience and driving up premiums.
Andrew Dance, Managing Director of Dance & Dean
"We were pleased with the outcome of this case. From the start, VINTTRO were there to guide and support us, using their years of claims knowledge to challenge advice that could have cost us significantly. Their expertise, persistence and ability to help bring forward the right evidence made all the difference. It’s reassuring to know we have a broker who doesn’t just place our insurance, but stands alongside us when it matters most.

"VINTTRO's involvement was invaluable throughout this process. Their claims expertise gave us the confidence to challenge the recommendations we were first given and their proactive approach meant key evidence like dash cam footage and telematics data was used to its full effect. The support we received went far beyond what we would normally expect from a broker, they were a true partner in protecting our business."
